A truly spectacular bicycle ride across land which was once sea, with a rare opportunity to visit inside several historic churches, including one which has become marooned in the sea, which can only be visited at low tide.

On this circular cycle, we cross wildlife rich reclaimed wetlands, follow the track of an old road through sand dunes and cross a pack horse bridge.

We visit Llangadwaladr Church to see a commemoration to a 7th century King of Gwynedd, ride on to Aberffraw, the ancient court site of the Princes of Gwynedd, where St Beuno’s Church has stood since the 7th century. We ride to the coast to enjoy a short walk across a stony beach to 12th century St Cwyfan’s Church, a place to pause, take a breath and drink in the atmosphere.

A picturesque rural inland route with a Welsh tea at a popular cyclists’ cafĂ©, marks our return back to Llangefni. This coastal tour selects quiet roads and cycle ways which provide a wealth of land and seascapes and provides a great way to experience the very special blend of ancient history and modern Welsh culture of Anglesey.

This is a tour comissioned by Experience Welsh Churches.

The proposed 2023 dates here are still subject to agreement by the Churches to be visited.
